PDO Threads
Natural-Looking Lift!
A PDO thread lift is a non-surgical procedure that inserts absorbable polydioxanone (PDO) threads into the skin to grip layers of drooping tissue underneath for an instant, natural-looking lift that gets better and better each day – for months!
What are PDO Threads?
Polydioxanone threads are used to lift, tighten, and smoothen the skin. Once introduced into the deeper layers of the skin, the body takes about 4-6 months to absorb them, during which the threads help stimulate new collagen and elastin in your skin. PDO threads also help stimulate microcirculation and muscle relaxation, increasing tissue integrity and volume.
PDO Lift Threads
PDO lifting threads use barbs or cones placed in the subcutaneous layer (fat), which are then pulled to reposition the skin, providing a slight lift. While barbed threads aim to lift, PDO Lifting threads are:
- Ideal for patients with good skin quality and mild to moderate sagging
- Effective for areas like nasolabial folds and marionette lines
- Able to stimulate the body to create new collagen
PDO Smooth Threads
PDO smooth threads do not have barbs, which allows them to effortlessly glide under the skin during the treatment process, thus resulting in a virtually painless experience. These single filament threads:
- Stimulate collagen production around the eyes, mouth, and neck
- Provide support to the skin rather than immediately lifting or repositioning it
- Can also be used on the body
How does it work?
The form of your face can be lifted and sculpted with a full face thread lift. Invisible and painless barbs attached to medical-grade suture material are used in thread lifts to grasp onto your skin. These barbs make sure that as the thread is drawn tight, it holds the underlying muscles and tissues. The threads and barbs also elevate your skin and lessen wrinkle formation.
Side Effects
The side effects of PDO thread treatments are extremely rare.
PDO Thread Lifts are minimally invasive and non-surgical. There are no obvious scars or incisions. Thread lifting is seen as a compromise between fillers and surgery. It represents a novel development in non-invasive facial rejuvenation.
For the last 20 years, PDO threads have been utilized in surgery with success. With thread lifts, a medical-grade thread is put into the desired location. The thread makes the treated area look plumper and younger by lifting the skin and promoting collagen regrowth. Your body absorbs the medical-grade thread after around six months, and your body naturally removes the strands through hydrolysis.
PDO Thread Lifts are typically painless, and quick; you can leave the clinic right thereafter. Swelling that only lasts a few days. For collagen and elastin to regenerate and lift your face after a thread lift, it may take three to six months.
A competent professional who places PDO Thread Lifts have a very low chance of leaving scars, bleeding, or significant bruising. It’s uncommon, although puckering might happen. If these little issues arise, they resolve on their own in a few days. The PDOThread Lifting technique has very little recovery time and works well with Botox and fillers.
